A Lazy Day in the Kitchen

Retreating from the responsibilities of work, my boyfriend and I
decided to make a delicious meal for my parents last weekend. He
generally likes to focus on the sweet stuff (very fitting), while I
gravitate towards the savory. For this meal, we made fresh Cannelloni
(Crepes stuffed with ground veal and cheese, topped with tomato sauce
and bechamel), Arugula with Mushroom confit, Brussel sprouts and Peach
Pie with the last of the seasonal peaches from the Farmer's market.
While it took the entire afternoon, the leisurely shopping at the
Farmer's Market at Union Square and Mario Batalli's "EATALY" made the
process a fun event in and of itself.
