Austrian Design takes the Cake (.. or should I say "Sachertorte"?)

What many of you don't know is that before I started my career in design in New York, I was a waiter at Austrian restaurant Wallse in the West Village. Serving kartoffelsalat and Schnitzel must have gotten into my blood, because recently I had an almost out of body reaction when I saw the work of this Austrian designer. Architect Bernardo Bader utilizes the strength of regional design, and mixes it with the best of international style to create something totally unique and strong. At once modern, while tipping its hat to tradtition, the work is calming, acutely detailed and quite beautiful. Check out the photos of his recent restaurant project, METZGERSTUEBLI, or see the rest of his portfolio here: http://www.bernardobader.com/  www.MrCallBlogs.com
