My first design project was for my Mom and Dad, at their house in Gig Harbor. It must have been about 15 years ago when the let me loose to decorate their home. My style has changed very little since that time, as the photo above illustrates. Architectural lines, bold scale, and artisnal details were all in the mix. Shown here were the bookcases we made in the den. I created back panels based off of old Greene & Greene designs, that had signature butterly joints - and stained them in two shades of gray and mahagony. The white floating shelves (which we used ikea brackets for) updated the panels and created a foreground/background relationship. They just moved out of this house I designed, and sent photos of the space after it was emptied. Many happy memories were made here...but I am looking forward to next design project with them.
