I happen to be singing in the Kitchen with a certain someone special in my life the other night, and we created a "mash-up" of our favorite tunes. It was a defining moment in our relationship and got me to thinking about bringing two, seemingly opposite, things together. As I was going through the inspiration sheets for todays post, I though "Is Interior Design just one big mashup?". The resounding answer is "Yes". And while, designers may hit a few sour notes every now and then (just like my guy and I did in the kitchen as we sang our little asses of), more often than not, the combination of two is always better than one. Case and point, today I am going to show you a series of classic design furniture - pieces that many of us are already familiar with "mashed up" with the color black. The simple combination of these two elements creates unity between the items themselves and brings out the uniqueness of each. Sounds like sweet music to my ears.
