Michael Graves Dream House 1996

Back in 1996, Michael Graves was commissioned by Time Life Magazine to create an affordable home design that was flexible for a multitude of family styles/sizes. The cost needed to be under $100 per square feet, appropriate for empty nesters, large families, or those just starting out. I was a kid at the time, if you can believe that, and these drawings kept my imagination whiring deep into the midnight hours. I would scrutinize the plans to figure out which one I liked best, and what I would do to change them.  While the aesthetic may be a bit dated, the actual plans are quite genius. Check out the designs here. Or even better, follow the blog of a couple in Florida that built their home from the plans http://disneyguys.com/dreamhouse. www.MrCallBlogs.com
