Stephan Friedman Gallery

For a recent exhibition of art and furniture, London dealer Stephen Friedman came up with an novel concept; he invited six prominent collectors from around the world to act as curators (the participants chose works by seminal artists from their collections), with the artworks displayed in room settings created by American interior designer and private furniture dealer Vance Trimble. The result, on display last summer, was a series of rooms—entrance hall, study, library, bedroom, sitting room—furnished with mid-century Scandinavian design pieces, including a rare Finn Juhl sideboard, wooden tables by Poul Kjaerholm, and four-shade pendant lamps in amber glass by Poul Henningson.
