The trevor wayne “Pop art” Manhattan

One of my dearest friends in Palm Springs is Trevor Wayne, the artist and mastermind behind Trevor Wayne Pop Art. For his recent birthday and two year store anniversary, I hosted an intimate group of friends and enthusiasts at my house to honor the man behind the brand.

The best way I know to celebrate Trevor is by making him his favorite drink: The Manhattan. So here is my perfect recipe for the best Manhattan ever. A bit sweet, a bit tart and absolutely unforgettable - just like Trevor himself.

We christened this cocktail for Trevor Waynes recent birthday and two year anniversary of his "Pop Art" design store in Palm Springs. A n incredible event attended by close friends and enthusiasts alike. There is no better way to celebrate Trevor than one of these classic cocktails.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Add the rye whiskey, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth and bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  3. Garnish with an Amarena cherry.

Notes

Design notes: Remember that the details make the difference! Amarena Fabbri are absolutely the best Amaro soaked cherries I know of. You MUST use them to make this cocktail perfectly. I use bamboo tie knot decorative toothpicks to skewer them and lean them gently on the glass. And speaking of the glass, I traded in my clear crystal martini glasses a long time ago for the sexier vibe of the smoked charcoal style. Affiliate links to these products below:
